Enjoying my last moment before going into army. Now I can only pray hard that everything goes well inside the camp and I will have a great buddy. I will miss my family, friends and students. 20 months more...

Early in the morning at 1000, I received my army posting. Intially, I thought I was going to Military Police but I was wrong. Guess what? They gave me bridge engineer aka combat engineer. I am going to stuck in seletar camp for 20 months. DAMN. I am so screwed up! Seriously, I dun see any point of serving army. If i'm given a choice I would have long migrated to somelse. Singapore isn't a realli nice place to live in especially when u r a fit guy. In seletar camp, I can forsee that I will be going outfield almost everyday and I have to eat the horrible combat ration(it taste worse than rotten vege). Somehow I have to put on cameo everyday and my face will eventually get ROTTEN. My future is extremely bleak now. I may die or seriously injure during the training because combat engineer is the most high risking thing. I don't think I have a future. All my dreams shattered in an instant. All tat I have worked so hard to achieve can go down to drain. I am super negative about my vocation now. Have you ever wonder what is worse than hell? ARMY!!! ARMY doesn't make sense to me at all. Where is my freedom? My army life sux. To all those going to senseless vocation: good luck and live well.

My apologies for the foul language used in previous post. I was trying to portray how people in army usually communicate which I found it quite disturbing for me. Perhaps I should have used a nicer way to describle...Never mind I shall continue with the army story.

During the 7th wk of our army we were forced to shift from the usual accomodation area in Ladang to Rocky Hills. Through the name it seems tat Rocky Hill sounds cool to stay in but wait things always go what u expected. Rocky Hill, originally the old SISPEC( place where sgt are trained) was a horrendous place to step foot in. Although the bunk was bigger than our previous one in Ladang, it was filled with dirt and dust tat can easily reach up to 5cm thick. The toilet bowls were prone to choking. Occassionally, spooky and unexplained stuff does happen e.g platoon-mates saw figures which disappeared in an instant, lock will open on itself. During my stay there, I am glad tat I did not actually encountered any weird occurrence. I can't imagine if I happened to face one how am I going to react. Our slping time at Rocky Hill was pathetic. We onli managed to slp from 12 to 5. When other companies were resting in their bunks located in Ladang, we can onli sit in the training shed where birds will fly past to shit.

Through the 9 wks, I could see people from different family, school background and people who possessed draconian characters. Frankly speaking, I had a slight culture shock when I first stepped foot on tat island becoz commanders there used tremendous amount of expletive and majority were smokers. (I hate smokers) They were boorish in their language. What amazed me was they can construct sentences with at least 1 crude word in each sentence. They always find excuses to cover up thier mistakes and poor planning. In army, trainings weren't as easy as it seems. However, through the darkness one can always find light tat illuminates their way. In army, I got the chance to widen my social circles. Friends like Weiming, stanley , weesong and many more may nv come by if not of army. Yet this doesn't change my initial perpective of army: time wastage. If i'm given a choice I would not wanna be part of it.

Wow it has been a long time since i last updated my bloggy. I can't believe i had survived through 9 wks of army. I just came back from the lan shop enjoying dota and CS with my platoon-mates. Now I have to backtrack to the past 9 wks. I guessed i have to cracked my brains recalling what had happened and find the appropriate words to describe it. This is definitely gonna be a long one.

Alrite, yesterdae was my POP. It was the greastest day I ever had in Tekong. We woke up at ard 0800 which was the lastest timing for us to wake up throughout the BMT. We did area cleaning after breakfast. The toilet bowl continued to get stuck. Bing Hong and I dug out the shit from the toilet bowl the dae before and we hav to ensure the toilet bowl is cleared before we pass out. So it wasn't a good experience for us. After area cleaning we were sent back to our old Ladang camp for POP by the tonner, a big truck but a roller coaster in disguise. We rehearsed the parade for the last time after lunch. Before i forgot, I started respect platoon sgt Roy ever since he became our contingent sgt. I used to hate him alot as he was harsh on me when i was on status during field camp and always scold "C B" in a loud and crude fashion. But he gav us welfare and took care of us during parade. Fav quote from him" f*** it". The last song he led us when we were marching to Tekong parade squared still rings in my head now. We started marching to Tekong parade square for POP at 1515. Mixed feelings gotten all over me. I am going to miss some of my platoon-mates and the times we had on this small little island known as Tekong though I dislike the hardship. Time for the BIG SHOW at 1545! We marched into the parade square. Then when it was time for our parents to help us put on the jockey cap, I felt a sense of relief when I saw my parents approaching. As my mum put on the jockey cap cap it was as if tat I was free from the chain tat shackled me to this arduous journey in Tekong. After the parade we bid the last farewell to Tekong at least for now. Plt sgt Alvin, sgt Mike, sgt Fiq and luqman went to sent us off. I managed to get a snapshot wif Alvin and Mike.I went to grandma house to fetch my bro and grandparents then we travelled all the way to Nihon Mura at Jurong West area with my family after POP. We queued there for almost 45 mins. It was alreadi near 9 before I enjoyed my first sushi. To be continued...
